When you come to Jiaoxi (礁溪) hot springs town by train or bus (Captial Bus 首都客運 at Taipei City Hall Bus Station 市府轉運站 or Kavalan Bus 噶瑪蘭客運 at Taipei Bus Station 台北轉運站, the one next to Taipei Train Station), you may have a leisure walk in this small beautiful town.
There are two hot springs Parks in Jiaoxi Town. One is Jiaoxi Hot Springs Park (礁溪溫泉公園) which is located next to Jiaoxi Bus Station (礁溪轉運站). The other one is at the center of the town near by Jiaoxi Train Station and named "Tangweigou Park" or "Tangwei Brook Park" (湯圍溝公園).
It's always crowded with tourists in Tangweigou Park (Tangwei Brook Park). Not only it's located at the center of the town, but also there are some interesting shops and decorations around. There are several "Doctor Fish Foot Spas" (溫泉魚足浴) providing visitors with laughters if you dare to put your feet into the special fish ponds. The small fish will bite your dead skin off your feet. These "kissing" of the fish won't hurt you but tickle you with laughters. It's so much fun. You have to try by yourself!!
Near by the entrance of the park, there is a "Chili Museum" (辣椒博物館) that they sell different degrees of spicy products beyond your imagination, for example, should they sell the magical spicy "ice cream". Hoooo~ you really need courage to have a taste of that!! He who dares to taste the "Burning Hot" & "Suicide Hot" degree Ice Cream, please come to Jiaoxi to have a try. :P
【Traffic】How to get to Jiaoxi
[1] 【Bus】MRT Taipei City Hall (3 min. walking) → City Hall Bus Station → Capital Bus (50 min.)→ Jiaoxi, Tangweigou Park. (The 3rd stops of Capital Bus is right at the entrance of the Park.)
[2] 【Bus】MRT Taipei (Train) Station (10 min. walking) → Taipei Bus Station → Kavalan Bus (60 min.) → Jiaoxi, Downtow (3 min. waling) → Tangweigou Park.
[3] 【Train】Taipei (Train) Station (70~90 min.)→ Jiaoxi Train Station (10 min. walking) → Tangweigou Park.
